Itinerary

Day 1Leh Arrival

Welcome at KUSHOK BAKULA RINPOCHE AIRPORT LEH rest the whole day and let your body acclimatize at Hotel. Overnight Stay at The Leh Hotel.

Day 2Leh To Nubra Valley

1. Leh (3,524 m / 11,562 ft):

  • Start your journey from Leh, the capital of Ladakh. Make sure you are well-acclimatized to the high altitude.

2. South Pullu Checkpoint:

  • En route, you’ll pass through South Pullu, a military checkpoint where you may need to show permits.

3. Khardung La Pass (5,359 m / 17,582 ft):

  • Ride to Khardung La, one of the highest motorable passes in the world. Take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

4. North Pullu:

  • Continue towards North Pullu, another checkpoint where permits might be checked.

5. Descent to Nubra Valley:

  • Descend from Khardung La into the Nubra Valley, surrounded by dramatic landscapes.

6. Diskit Monastery:

  • Visit Diskit Monastery, one of the oldest and largest monasteries in the Nubra Valley, known for its stunning views of the valley.

7. Hunder (3,048 m / 10,000 ft):

  • Reach Hunder, famous for its sand dunes and the unique experience of riding Bactrian camels overnight stay in Hunder.

Day 3Nubra - Pangong TSO -

1. Hunder (3,048 m / 10,000 ft):

  • Start your journey from Hunder, ensuring your bike is in excellent condition for the challenging terrains.

2. Diskit:

  • Head back towards Diskit and proceed towards Khalsar.

3. Khalsar:

  • Continue towards Khalsar, a small village with apricot orchards. From here, you’ll join the main Leh-Pangong route.

4. Agham Village and Shyok River:

  • Pass through Agham Village and ride along the Shyok River, enjoying the spectacular views of the rugged landscape.

5. Shyok Village:

  • Cross the Shyok Village, an excellent place to take a break and absorb the beauty of the surroundings.

6. Durbuk:

  • Ride towards Durbuk, a small village where you can find basic amenities.

7. Tangtse:

Proceed to Tangtse, another village along the way. Make sure your fuel tank is filled up here, as this might be the last fuel station on the route. Be greeted by the mesmerizing sight of Pangong Lake. The lake is known for its changing colours and stunning reflections. Overnight stay near lake.

Day 4Pangong TSO - Leh

Be ready with your cameras and phone to click pictures. The view in the morning will take your breath away.

  1. Tangtse:

    • Proceed to Tangtse, another village along the way. Make sure your fuel tank is filled up here, as this might be the last fuel station on the route.
  2. Chang La Pass (5,360 m / 17,585 ft):

    • Prepare for a challenging ascent to Chang La Pass, one of the highest motorable passes. Take it slow to acclimatize.
  3. Descend to Karu (4,350 m / 14,271 ft):

    • Finally, reach Karu, the entry point to Leh Valley.
    • Leh (3,524 m / 11,562 ft):

      • Complete your journey as you enter

Day 5Explore Leh

Day at relaxation. Wake up late and after breakfast, enjoy your day.

1. Leh Palace:

  • Start your exploration with Leh Palace, an architectural marvel that offers panoramic views of the city and the surrounding mountains. The palace is a reminiscent of the Tibetan Potala Palace.

2. Shanti Stupa:

  • Visit Shanti Stupa, a white-domed structure perched on a hilltop. It not only provides spiritual serenity but also offers breathtaking views of Leh and the surrounding mountains.

3. Thiksey Monastery:

  • Explore Thiksey Monastery, a prominent Buddhist monastery that resembles the Potala Palace of Lhasa, Tibet. The monastery houses a large statue of Maitreya Buddha.

4. Magnetic Hill:

  • Experience the unique phenomenon at Magnetic Hill, where the layout of the surroundings creates an optical illusion, making it seem like your vehicle is defying gravity.

5. Leh Market:

  • Wander through the vibrant Leh market, where you can shop for traditional Ladakhi handicrafts, artifacts, and souvenirs.

6. Hall of Fame:

  • Visit the Hall of Fame, a museum dedicated to the Indian military’s contributions to the region, showcasing artefacts and exhibits about the Indo-Pak wars.

Dinner will be served at the Hotel. Enjoy your Overnight stay.

Day 6 Leisure Day in Leh

  • Today is a leisure day to relax and explore Leh at your own pace.
  • You can visit any missed attractions, enjoy shopping for local handicrafts and souvenirs, or simply unwind at the hotel.
  • Optional activities include visiting the Hall of Fame, Magnetic Hill, or indulging in local cuisine at traditional Ladakhi restaurants.
  • Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 07Leh Monastery Tour

  • After breakfast, embark on a monastery tour around Leh.
  • Visit Thiksey Monastery, resembling the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet, and housing a 15-meter-high statue of Maitreya Buddha.
  • Explore Shey Palace and Monastery, once the summer capital of Ladakh.
  • Visit Stakna Monastery, perched atop a hill and offering panoramic views of the Indus Valley.
  • Return to Leh for overnight stay.

Day 08Depart From Leh

Today is the last day of this adventurous trip. You can leave back for your home today, but you won’t be going alone. You will be taking lots of fun memories, which you will cherish for a long time.
